Whew! After a week that began with hosting my in-laws during the Superbowl, included my birthday, and ended with a 2nd birthday celebration, I have to get back on the stick!
Last week I did hardly any exercise, drank little water, and pretty much ate whatever I wanted, even if it were in small portions.
This morning, I felt a bit lethargic and I was huffing during my exercise.
Not good!
So it's back to working out consistently, drinking 16+ cups of water a day, and making better food choices (both food items and portion).
When I do, I always feel better and I move closer towards my goals.
This week, I'm doubly motivated because I'm trying to motivate one of my family members too, who needs a little push and maybe a shove. She and I are both striving to drop 2 lbs. this week.
In addition to working out in the mornings before work, I'll need to walk for about an hour at lunch time, drink my water every day (oops! -- I haven't filled up my cup yet), and be pretty strict in terms of what and how much I eat.
But, as I told her, it's not the impossible dream. These things are very doable. It's about being conscious and consistent.
Every day counts.
Are you making every day count as you work toward your goals?
Peace & Blessings,
Patricia

One Day At A Time...
...is how I have to view this weight loss battle.
I'm still upbeat and determined.
I exercised four out of five days last week.
I watched what I ate, even over the weekend when we were on the road to basketball games in Gainesville, complete with concession stands and victory pizza.
I mostly avoided the office junk food--baked goods, candy, chips, and other snacks--that seems to come in truckloads this time of the year.
I drank more water.
I closed my book at night and went to sleep, making it easier to get up, no matter how much I wanted to read one more chapter.
I stayed away from the pantry in the evenings (by going upstairs and leaving the kitchen cleanup to Hubby).
The result?
I'm down 2 lbs. from last week.
If you want to join me over at the 50 Million Pounds site, where I've been a member for over a year, in which time I've gained 16 lbs but I haven't given up, click here. I've created a group called Faithfully Fit. It's a group of one at the moment but I'm hopeful some family and friends will show up and together we can make our dent in that 50 million lb. weight loss.
Peace & Blessings,
Patricia

Weekly Check-in: November 10, 2008
It's Monday and time to check in again.
No need for the usual statistics. I'm getting back on track.
I didn't gain any weight again. Hooray! What this really means is that after losing some weight and gaining it back, I'm holding steady.
And that I'm at the same weight I was in January so things are not as bad as they sometimes seem.
I got good news about my B-12 level over the weekend. It has skyrocketed since I began taking mega supplements. (I'll have to keep taking them though since the body doesn't really store this stuff long-term.)
My iron levels are up. Again, thanks to mega supplements.
Doctor was not crazy about my weight being up too but I convinced her I can at least hold steady, if not lose a few lbs, between now and the end of the year.
Hey, I can do this!
We entertained a guest this weekend, which meant eating out. It also meant a ridiculously hectic schedule, which included having dinner after 9:30 pm two nights in a row.
I still didn't gain weight.
And...
I exercised this morning. I mean really exercised.
I'm changing my regimen. I'm going to try strength/resistance training for 30-40 min 3x per week, and cardio for 30-45 min twice a week.
Now if I can just get the evening snack attacks under control...
How'd you do?
Peace & Blessings,
Patricia

Weekly Check-in: November 3, 2008
Week of October 27, 2008:
Weight Loss: None.
This is a good thing. October was a bad month. A sure sign is that I didn't even post my status last Monday. After indulging myself with a lot of chocolate bars and very little exercise, I am happy to say I did not gain any weight. The prior couple of months did me well.
My upper tummy, as I call the bulge beneath my breasts, has inflated again, and my youngest has again taken to poking Mommy in her "fat stomach". Don't you love, kids?! Although I tell the 3yo that's not nice, I really don't make a big deal out of it. I'd much rather lose the stomach so he could tell Mommy her stomach isn't fat.
Average water per day: 3 cups.
Did a little better than I'd been doing, and continued to improve through the weekned. Today, I've already drank 3 cups so I'm on a roll.
Number of exercise days: Uh, exercise? Oh yeah...
No AM exercise last week. Not one day. I did walk at lunch time with a co-worker on Monday, and I did go canvassing on Saturday.
Total min exercised: 40 min
I don't include my canvassing hrs here although I probably should.
I feel so much better this week and I'm off to a good start. To some degree, I was burned out from all the time I've put into the presidential campaign. My work is done, except for one last day of poll watching, so it feels like I can regroup and get back to doing what I was doing. My combo living room/dining room and kitchen floors will be thankful.
Now don't get me wrong. I will never lose weight, nor achieve any other goals, if I go simply off my feelings.
No, I feel better because I shook myself off, ended the pity party, and re-purposed to doing the things I know I need to do. Like stopping the candy binge. Like getting to sleep earlier. Like exercising before work.
While waiting in the doctor's office for Hubby over the weekend, I saw one line in an article about weight loss that struck me. It said, "Keep your body guessing." As in keep varying the intensity and type of exercise. As in keep varying the foods I eat. When the body doesn't know what to expect, it keeps the engine (metabolism) revving and reacts with force. If it knows that you're going to do the same thing every day and eat the same foods in the same pattern every week, it makes the necessary adjustments in metabolism to accomodate the established habits.
Isn't that wild?
How was your week?

Patricia

Week of October 13, 2008:
Weight Loss: None.
Not sure. Didn't weigh myself this AM. Didn't want to know.
Average water per day: 2 cups. Notice
I'm trending down. Not good.
Number of exercise days: 3
Total min exercised: 90 min (avg of 30 min per day)
HELP!!!!
Still struggling with the October blues. I haven't exercised since the middle of last week. I did walk for about 5 hours this weekend, canvassing for Sen. Obama.
Thank God it's election season or I'd be a big blob on the couch!
I also just finished walking a couple of times around the perimeter of the parking lot with one of my co-workers. Now that the temps have dropped to a comfortable low 80s, we are resuming our daily walks.
If only exercise were the only problem...
Eating. As in, eating every thing in sight. That's my other problem.
So far, so good today. If I get through this evening without pigging out and I exercise tomorrow AM, those will be good first steps to getting back on track. Before the holidays kick in.
The real problem is that I just have not turned this whole weight loss thing over to God. I know I haven't or I wouldn't be still struggling with it, up and down, over and over, as I have been for the past 20 years.
Clearly I have some Israelite in me.
Perhaps I should start there...
Peace & Blessings,
Patricia

I'm in the battle of my life...for my life.
October is a rough month for me. I'm not sure why. Last year, around this same time, after fighting to get off 17 lbs., I got sluggish. I stopped exercising. I drank less water. I began snacking and eating stuff I knew I shouldn't eat. By the time I realized what was happening, around Jan 15th, I had gained back every pound plus three.
I promised myself I wouldn't let it happen this year. This year because I'm more aware, more enlightened, I would guard against this happening.
It's happening again.
I don't know why. I think it has something to do with being born and raised up North. The climate is changing up there as Fall sets in. From October to mid-January, there was always a sense of things slowing down as winter and the holidays approached. People will begin wearing heavier clothing to keep warm and conserving personal energy whenever possible.
I don't need to do that down here in Florida.
So I'm going to fight my natural instincts. Didn't exercise this morning but I did walk for about four hours yesterday in addition to my regular exercise. I'll be sure to exercise for the remainder of the week.
And I'm going to be a bit stricter about the snacking.
My short-term goal is to make it to Jan 1st without gaining any weight. I'd love to lose but I'll be happy not to gain, as I typically do this time of year. I'll consider that a major accomplishment.
Should I lose weight, I'll be doing a happy dance!
How'd you do last week?
Peace & Blessings,
Patricia

Weekly Check-in: October 6, 2008
Didn't forget to post my update this week but kind of wish I had.
Thank God for those B-12 metabolism kickers! I only exercised 3 days last week, not counting the 5 hours of walking for voter registration that I did. Waaaay off my goal of min 5 days per week.
I was sluggish. I overslept one day.
At least I didn't gain weight. My eating, although not great, wasn't too bad.
Not off to a good start this week since this morning, I overslept again. I'm stretching myself a bit thin these days, what with campaigning and managing the Littlest One's baseball team, in addition to all my normal duties. I'm aware of it but these things are important.
The election, thankfully is less than 30 days away and I'm only canvassing on weekends.
The baseball season ends right before Thanksgiving. It requires one practice per week and one game, typically on Saturday mornings. I would be there anyway, so when the original manager bowed out, I volunteered. (I'm proud of Most Honorable Son Number One who is coaching the team for me.)
It will get better. I know it will.
Hope you had a better week than I did? Tell me about it.
Peace & Blessings,
Patricia

Weekly Check-in: September 30, 2008
Ooops! I completely forgot to check in yesterday!
I'd love to say it was innocent but I know better. Trust me, if I'd had something to crow about, I'd have checked in!
Still running high in body temp, thanks to the B12 tablets, but my eating was off. First there was my Middle Son's birthday cake. Then, I found myself snacking. Not unusual for the beginning of a monthly cycle. It always sneaks up on me and then I realize I've been snacking a bit more for the last day or two than I had been.
I'm curious as to whether anyone has studied women's weight loss efforts and how they are impacted by menstruation. I'm sure someone has. Not only do I snack more, I also have to fight more to exercise. I'm just not into anything but curling up in bed, which I don't get to do, so I do what I minimally have to do, at least the first couple of days.
But now that that's over, I don't have any more excuses. I need to stop eating the cookies I baked in a moment of weakness.
And I need to rev up my exercise. I didn't do anything this morning!
But, in addition to working out Mon-Fri last week, I did walk for almost four hours on Saturday, canvassing for my favorite presidential candidate, Sen. Barack Obama.
Talk about tired? I could barely move on Sunday and I was still aching on Monday.
The middle-aged body just doesn't bounce back quite as quickly.
I'm claiming a good week for the remainder of this one, getting back down to last week's weight.
What about you?
Peace & Blessings,
Patricia

Week of September 15, 2008:
Weight Loss: -2 lbs. (Woo-hoo!)
Average water per day: 4 cups
Number of exercise days: 4
Total min exercised: 165 min (avg of 41 min per day)
Last week was a good week! I'm down 2 lbs. It was actually 3 lbs in the middle of the week but I ate a little more on the weekend that I probably should have.
I'll take the 2 lbs!
I was soooo hot last week. Not because the temps in FL still run in the mid-90s this time of year or because I've found a way to be fresh, chic, hip or anything faintly resembling that.
Noooo...I was a walking furnace!
Chalk it up to the B12 supplements I'm taking. 41,000% of the daily recommended dosage. Doc said it would rev up my metabolism. I think she was right. The only times I ever felt this warm internally were during pregnancy. (And I am very much not pregnant now or ever again!)
I attribute the weight loss to this and to swapping my lunch and dinner meals. By eating a bigger meal mid-day, I'm less ravenous at dinner time. By eating salad for dinner, I'm comfortable rather than stuffed at bedtime. I like the feeling and will continue eating this way.
I was soooo tired and out of sorts last Monday that I didn't start the week off with exercise. I had hoped to make it up over the weekend but that didn't happen. No big deal. I got off to a good start today.
Let's see whether I can drop another lb this week by simply continuing what I'm doing. No other major changes.
That would be really nice.
How'd you do? What are your goals for the week?
Peace & Blessings,
Patricia

Sorry I'm so late posting today but it took me this long to wake up! Never mind that I've been at work since 9.
I have a 3 yo who would not sleep thru the night this past weekend. "I'm hungry." "My stomach hurts." "I'm thirsty." Things that required actually opening my eyes and putting my feet on the floor.
Perhaps tonight I could tie him down or bribe him with an extra cookie after dinner?
Pray for us.
My third straight zero-lb-weight-loss week. But still not getting down on myself.
I think my body is adjusting. To what, I'm not sure. LOL!
Could be those B12 tablets that are (no exaggeration here) like 40,000% of the daily recommended dosage. Guess my doctor was really serious about getting a major change within a month. Good news is that the body doesn't store B12. Whatever isn't utilized is flushed out of the body.
Could be switching my lunch and dinner meals. In theory, this is a great idea. In practice? Easier said than done. Because although I kind of like finishing off the day with a salad and I'm definitely not as ravenous when I get home as I used to be, I think that overall I'm consuming more starch than I used to. For me that translates into gaining, not losing, pounds. But since I'm working out consistently, there's been no change.
Then again, could be a response to the antibiotic I'm taking for a minor sinus infection.
Who knows?
Medicine is definitely a mystery to me.
Really gotta get away from the snacks. Did very well during the week. Not so good on Saturday. Lousy on Sunday. But I'm very cognizant, even in the midst of my snack attacks, so there's hope.
How'd you do this week?
Peace & Blessings,

Another zero lb week. Aaarrrgh!
Two weeks of political party conventions definitely took its toll. Yes, although I am an Obama supporter, I watched a good portion of the Republican National Convention too. Good to hear for yourself what the other side is saying, before the pundits slice and dice and serve it to you...their way.
Anyway, I'd normally be a bit down this morning. After all, I'm working out 5 days a week consistently now. Forget that my minutes are going in the wrong direction. That's from being up too late and that's over and done with now that the conventions have ended.
But, as I was saying, I should be down but I'm not. That's because I went to the doctor over the weekend. She shed some light on what might be contributing to my weight-loss stall. I'll go into more detail tomorrow, because I think it's worth sharing. I'm just I'm thankful that even though I realize this weight-loss thing might start with me, there's so much that I don't know or control about the process and I have people like my doctor to help me.
I also didn't get in my usual longer, 45-60 min workout this weekend. Got my hair done on Friday evening. When that happens, which is every other Friday, weekend exercise is out of the question! I don't pay all that money to sweat it out the very next day. So I give myself the weekend off, resuming exercise on Monday, as I did this morning. But I'm resigned that it's more important overall to have a healthy body than beautiful hair.
Michelle Obama, as reported in the recent Ebony magazine that featured her on the cover, feels the same way. She said she had to decide that she wasn't going to let her hair dictate her health. 'Cuz you know how Black women are about their hair! It's a contributing factor to so many women in the African-American community being overweight. We don't want to do anything that might cause us to sweat, ruining our perms/weaves/braids/rolls...whatever.
But I'm with Michelle on this thing, which is why I'm keeping the hair simple and resigning myself to not winning any 'Do of the Month contests. I'll take 70 lbs lighter and toned with less than cute hair!
The focus for the week is:
Get to sleep earlier.
Get up earlier.
Exercise longer. (But not so long that the hair is totally unkempt!)
How'd you do?
Peace & Blessings,
Patricia
Weight Loss: 0 lbs.

Weekly Check-In: September 2, 2008
Hope everyone enjoyed their Labor Day. Please continue to pray for the people of the Gulf Coast who were displaced or otherwise impacted by Hurricane Gustav. Pray for the people of Florida and the Atlantic region who are now threatened by Hurricane Hanna. And Ike is forming right behind these two!
Week of August 25, 2008:
Weight Loss: 0 lbs.
Average water per day: 4 cups (need to get up to eight)
Number of exercise days: 5
Total min exercised: 180 min (avg of 36 min per day)
Second week of school, the first full week for all of my boys. Was I tired! A couple of days I had to talk myself into getting up, going into the bathroom, putting on my workout clothes, and heading down the stairs. A few times I found myself 10-15 min into my routine before I even felt awake.
But I'm definitely getting into the swing of it. Again, I did five days of exercise. Since I work up at 5 on Labor Day, when I didn't have to, I'm thinking my body is adjusting to the new schedule, which should allow me to be less sluggish and work toward lengthening my workouts.
Eating was good until mid-week when I baked a double layer, chocolate fudge cake for Hubby's birthday. I rarely ate a whole piece but I found myself eating more slivers than I should have. Then Hubby took me out to dinner for our 17th wedding anniversary on Sunday and we ate well, including fresh baked bread dipped in seasoned olive oil and creme brulee for dessert. Not to mention that about a third of that cake is still in the cake keeper on the counter.
But I've had my fill. It's a new month and I'm really committed to continued progress. I'm more toned than I've been in a long time, even if the pounds aren't falling off just yet. If I keep my workouts going and lengthen them, then it comes down to calories ingested. And aside from my Middle Son's birthday later this month, we won't have any more celebrations involving food until Thanksgiving!
The whole family went to the track yesterday so that Hubby and I could work out, making it easier for me to keep to my 5 workouts a week minimum this week.
Bottomline, to lose weight, it's simply calories out must exceed calories in. Or, to put it another way, not even considering what kind of calories I'm eating, I'm going to have to eat less.
Knowing and doing are two different things.
Perhaps I shouldn't use words like "simply" because I find weight loss to be anything but simple.
But I'm encouraged. And I've got a buddy in this battle, my crit partner, Chicki, who is walking her way to good health on her new walking treadmill.
Peace & Blessings,
Patricia

Weekly Check-in: August 25, 2008
It was a hard but great week for getting the healthy!
First, the stats:
Week of August 18, 2008:
Weight Loss: 1.5 lbs.
Average water per day: 4 cups
Number of exercise days: 5
Total min exercised: 195 (avg of 39 min per day)
Woo-hoo! I actually exercised 5 days last week and I did 45 min of exercise on 3 out of 5 days. I'm working toward 5 days consistently and an avg of at least 45 min per day.
Last week was the first week of school for my boys. I was sooooo afraid I would fall back into my old habits. Dragging myself to bed late, too tired to get up in the morning, no time for exercise.
But this year is different. First, Hubby is helping out a bit more with the morning routine. He's always been a part of it but by him getting involved more helps me alot. I'm getting up earlier but I'm also going to bed earlier most days. That, coupled with the iron tablets the doctor ordered earlier this year, is making a HUGE difference.
Mentally, when I got on the scale this morning, I had to chide myself for the flash of disappointment I felt. I lost weight this week although it seems I've been gaining and losing the same 3-4 lbs all summer. After my great exercise week, I wanted the scale to drop at least 5lbs. But it's not all about scale movement. My clothes are fitting better and I have more energy than I've had in a long time.
Still a bit too much snacking but less then before. And this week is full of eating challenges. First Hubby's birthday on Wednesday and our 17th wedding anniversary on Sunday. But I'm really going to try to be mindful of what I'm putting in my mouth and get up and exercise every day like I did last week. If I keep in mind the challenge, perhaps I won't sabotage my efforts. Hubby will help because he's on a weight loss quest too and may not even want a cake. (We both passed on the Dunkin' Donuts the kids had for a treat yesterday.)
So I'm off and running on what will be another banner week for health and fitness. Can't wait to find out how my friend, Chicki, is doing with her walking desk.
How about you?
Peace & Blessings,
Patricia

Weekly Check-in: August 18, 2008
Week of August 11, 2008:
Weight Loss: None
Average water per day: 4 cups
Number of exercise days: 4
Total min exercised: 150 (avg of 37.5 min per day)
It's the first day of kindergarten for Middle Son. I cried for the oldest so I said I wouldn't cry this time.
I didn't cry but my heart burst with pride.
Youngest One is still in daycare and The Eldest (he likes to be called "Most Honorable Number One Son") starts his last year of middle school later this week. (Now Monday due to Hurricane Fay.)
Sigh.
I had a great time at the Faith and Fiction Retreat. I'll be detailing that experience over on my writing blog over the next few days.
But how'd I do this weekend re: healthy choices?
I'm stalling.
Actually, I didn't do too badly. I did little snacking during the 7 hour drive up to Destin or back. The first night we went to Trader Vic's and I had a seafood dish. The second night, we had a luau with cake for dessert.
I ate that night. Really ate. But at least I didn't eat the sugar-laden frosting from the cake.
Came back 1.5 lbs heavier than last Monday but since I felt like it might be 5 lbs, I'm actually pleased. Especially since I actually went to the fitness room and did 45 min of exercise on Saturday AM.
Could be worse. Not complaining. Off to a good start this week.
Why is weight loss so hard?
Don't answer that. I know some things that I need to do differently but one thing at a time. And my "one thing" right now is to get to where I'm exercising 5-6 times per week for an avg of 45 min each.
How'd you do?
Please be in prayer for the residents of the state of Florida. Hurricane Fay is supposed to hit the Tampa area, where we live, sometime tomorrow.
Peace & Blessings,
Patricia

Weekly Check-in: August 11, 2008
This weekend was all about family and back-to-school.
I love spending time with family. If I think about it on the front end, sometimes it feels like a big effort but I always enjoy myself and am glad we had the time together once it's over. This weekend was my in-laws and three of my nephews that I hadn't seen in years. Good stuff.
Back-to-school. Last week. School starts Monday. Shopping. Lots and lots of shopping. Bargain hunting, slashing ridiculous item counts in half (like 13 glue sticks), and much sighing. Lots of "It is what it is". You know.
But they're pretty set now, except for a few big ticket items that remain to be purchased. I'll pick those up between now and the end of the first week of school.
How'd my week go?
Week of August 4, 2008:
Weight Loss: Not sure but I liked today's number
Average water per day: 3-4 cups
Number of days exercised: 3
Total min exercised: 105 (avg of 35 min per day)
I don't know how much weight I lost last week because I don't remember where I started. (Because I don't want to post the actual number here. I did in the first post but quickly revised it.) So I have to make sure I write it on my calendar. Somewhere between 0 and 1.5 lbs. I do know that I'm down 5 lbs total from where I was when I started really making a concerted effort.
Water intake was up a bit. Very consistent with iron supplements, which I think my body has finally adjusted to, and vitamins.
Exercise was okay once I got going about mid-week. Have to work on getting that first Monday AM workout, like I did today, so that I can end the week with 4-5 workouts. But I got a tremendous workout while shopping this weekend. Mall
This week, I'm focused on consistency. Consistency in water intake (4-8 cups per day), AM exercise, and snack-less evenings, which I pretty much did over the weekend.
I need to start increasing my exercise to about 45 min per day. When I hit the next exercise plateau--when you can do the exercises pretty easily without heaving or even sweating much--it will be time for weights.
Heard a great message at church yesterday. God tests us (test, not tempt) in order to teach us and to refine our faith. He also tests us that we might remember from when He has brought us. (Judges 3:1-2, Exodus 16:4, Deutoronomy 8, 1 Pet 1:6-7) So if you're going through something, think on it as the refining of your faith and hold your head up. If you're not going through at the moment, remember from whence you came and thank the Lord!
Happy Monday!
Peace & Blessings,
Patricia

Weekly Check-in -- August 4, 2008
It was a solid week, an average week.
Week of July 28, 2008:
Weight Loss: - 4 lbs (net -3.5 lbs)
Average water per day: 2-3 cups (although I upped that significantly over the weekend)
Number of days exercised: 3
Total min exercised: 114 (avg of 38 min per day)
Not my best week but not my worst. I struggled with getting up to exercise, in part because I was awake later. I worked really hard on the novel I'm writing in the evenings. When I do things like that, my mind is racing at bedtime and doesn't slow down right away.
I also have to drink more water. LOTS more water. I need at to get back up to at least 8 glasses a day. When I'm at that level, I can almost feel my body working more efficiently.
But overall, I feel pretty good about the week.
What went well? My weight is moving in the right direction. The weight loss is only as much as it is because I'd ballooned at the end of last week due to outrageous eating. Half of the lbs lost was simply getting back to where I'd already been so it was really just an average week on the scale.
I continue to exercise and I'm getting stronger in my legs. I'm walking up stairs more upright and without running out of breath.
I cut down on my snacking...some. I varied my food choices more. I took my vitamin and prescription meds (to help control blood sugar and to increase my iron count) more consistently, despite the havoc that last one is wreaking on my digestive system. It takes a while plus trial-and-error to get the right amount of fiber in my system on a daily basis to counteract the effects of the extra iron.
Most of all, in addition to thinking more about God, which is one thing this blog helps me to do, I was kind to myself mentally. More God-thought tends to do that for me and what a difference it makes!
How'd you do?
Peace & Blessings,
Patricia

Weekly Check-In
From Psalms 103:1-5,
To this end, I have a number of goals. I'm sure you do too.
But I have to pick one to truly focus on. I'll make progress on several fronts and talk about those too but the one I'm going to focus on, at least until I get a handle on it, is losing weight. Those who are interested in how I'm doing on my writing goals can always hop over to that blog, Readin' N Writin' with Patricia.
Each Monday, I'm going to give a mini-status of how I'm doing. If you too are trying to lose weight, I hope you'll share your status too.
My week, for the purpose of weight loss, begins on Monday and ends on Sunday.
Week of July 21, 2008:
Weight Loss: +0.5 lbs. (Scale measure in 1/2 lb increments.)
Average water per day: 4 cups
Number of days exercised: 5
Total min exercised: 140
Not as bad as that sounds. Was 2.5 lbs lighter on Saturday AM. (I weigh myself every day.)
Snacked a bit over the weekend and began taking iron pills again, which results in water retention and constipation. Solution? Need more water. Also, I purchased FiberSure to make sure I get enough fiber each day, no matter what I eat.
In fact, with the increase in exercise and no change to diet, I saw the scale drop 1/2 lb almost daily. Until I swallowed that iron pill on Saturday and ate that 400 calorie chocolate snack I couldn't resist.
Not to worry. Today's weight was back down to the extra 2.5 lbs. So except for that weekend blip, I lost 2 lbs last week.
What's your goal and how'd you do? (Mind you, it doesn't have to be weight-related.)
Peace & Blessings,
Patricia
Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Here at It Starts With Me..., we're going to pray together, praise together, laugh together, and encourage one another to become our best selves.
2Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
5Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.
To this end, I have a number of goals. I'm sure you do too.
